Role of the Ethicist

An Ethicist is a person who has been educated and trained to assist with ethical problems that arise in health care settings. The Ethicist is a resource for patients and families who are faced with difficult ethical issues and may be asking "what should we do" or  "what is the right thing to do?"  Patients and family members are free to contact the Ethicist at extension 56630 to arrange for a consultation.
